The designer Marta Gattari was born in a small medieval village in the heart of the Marche region, framed by the gentle peaks of the Apennines and the beauty of the valleys: Sant’Angelo in Pontano (MC), a true triptych of art, culture, and traditions.
The ancient voices of farmers and artisans still echo through the streets of the town, a vivid reminder of a past season that is not forgotten. The Macerata area is rich in artisanal traditions and crafts, surviving the ravages of time thanks to the workshops scattered across various villages. Among the alleys and little squares, even today, one can still meet men and women dedicated to keeping ancient craftsmanship techniques alive and productive.
Marta aims to enhance the primitive yet refined arts of weaving plant fibres and working with leather, crafts that, having survived the storm of industrialisation, are still passed down with great pride from generation to generation.
Marta’s creations are born from the fusion of authentic, intact, and primordial forms with the local craftsmanship tradition; a highly fruitful union supported by the conscious and sustainable use of carefully selected raw materials.
Wicker / Rattan (a fibre derived from Indian cane), fine leathers (Italian and sustainable), and precious stones come together in the creation of bags that are undoubtedly original and unabashedly elegant.

Her brand is born from an ancient idea, an ancestral memory submerged yet present in the collective consciousness: the wicker basket, which has always accompanied women, transcending geographical and cultural differences.
Our ancestors used baskets for a variety of purposes: they were cradles for children or tools for work; moving containers to carry out what is inside and bring inside what is outside; bridges between different dimensions, between home and community, between family and work.
